Apologies, I was hoping to have this to you by now as I firmly believe it’s something you will benefit from. That said, once the new brand is launched, I’ll circle back and update this with some specifics, timelines, and estimates.

To give you a quick idea of some of the big picture items I am planning to address:

Combining orchardcannabis.ca and direct.orchardcannabis.ca

As far as I have been able to discover, there’s no reason you need to have two separate sites for Orchard. Unless I’m missing something in the regulations, we should be able to combine the two (orchardcannabis.ca and direct.orchardcannabis.ca) into the same Wordpress/Woocommerce install under orchardcannabis.ca (ex orchardcannabis.ca/direct). As long as nobody can view prices without logging in, and nobody can view anything if they’re underage (because kids under 19 don’t know how age popups work). But otherwise, we can easily silo off the e-commerce stuff on one site, and reduce the maintenance and content updates required to keep both sites running smoothly and in sync. Not to mention the current user experience dissonance when switching between the two.

Modernize the tech stack being used

Presuming we decide to proceed with the above, we would need to do some rebuilding, so I’m planning to propose that we rebuild the two sites in a more modern way with modern tools. They’re both currently built using a very clunky page builder (WP Bakery) that comes included in the theme being used (Salient). Both are showing their age, and have massive dependencies and required plugins. There’s much more streamlined ways to do things.

Regardless, we’ll make sure we build out any of the new stuff for Windfall in a manner that will compliment any of this moving forward.
